Struggling Single Mom Shares Social Post About Her Ex-Husband—And Gets Arrested For It

Back in 2015, Anne King was a single mom struggling to take care of her two kids who had both gotten sick with the flu. One night, the exhausted Georgia mom went on Facebook to vent.

Never did she think a simple, honest statement would cause such chaos in her life.

All Anne wanted to do was express that she was feeling overworked and spread too thin. Her online comment included a small jab toward her ex-husband whom she felt was being less than helpful.

"That moment when everyone in your house has the flu and you ask your kids' dad to get them (not me) more Motrin and Tylenol and he refuses," she wrote.

Anne's friends were quick to show their support. Some left negative comments about her ex-husband and agreed he could have been making more of an effort.

But here's the thing: Anne's ex-husband was the deputy sheriff. And he was so unhappy with what she wrote about him that he showed her Facebook post to the local magistrate judge.

Anne had no idea that her ex-husband was about to seek revenge in a way that would make her feel "small and helpless."
