Firefighter Trainee Has Super-Long Hair But She Needs A Short Pixie Cut For Her New Job

As women, there is always a time in our lives when we have the instinct to cut all our hair off. This is the moment when our hair is the longest it has been, and we suddenly get the urge to cut it short. Some of us immediately regret the decision, and then there are some who thrive in their new short hairstyle. This woman went to the next level of short hair and got a pixie cut, and she is thriving!

Rachael Ray had Elizabeth, who is from Redondo Beach, California, on her show, and Elizabeth was in need of a short haircut. Training to become a firefighter, she needed something with less maintenance. Elizabeth said, “I’ve recently just accepted a job in Santa Barbara and it’s going to be in wildland service. That means burning land, cutting trees, and really preparing for brush fire.”

Elizabeth then explained how having a shorter haircut would benefit her for where she is going to be stationed. She’ll be away from the city, and out there running water isn’t always dependable. And when the water is available, the water is hard water, which is not good for your hair.

Elizabeth is also a lover of the outdoors, and she is always on the move. Having to constantly pull her hair up and out of her face has become more of a hassle the more she does.

Rachael Ray had celeb hairstylist Chris Appleton transform Elizabeth’s look with a new short hairstyle. When Chris was chatting with Rachael Ray about the process with Elizabeth’s hair, he held up two large chunks that he'd cut off! It was shocking to see just how much hair he had cut! Viewers then got to see a clip of the haircut process Elizabeth went through.

Chris then had Elizabeth show everyone her new haircut, and she looks amazing! She was meant to have short hair, I swear! Seeing Elizabeth’s hair made me want to cut mine off … but I know for a fact I could not pull off that adorable pixie cut. I was meant to have long hair!
