After Swearing She Never Would, Jennifer Aniston Surprises Fans In New Video By Going Gray

For many years, Jennifer Aniston's fans have made comments about how she never appears to age. Now, at 54, the actress seems to be embracing one sign of aging: her gray hair.

In an Instagram video promoting her hair care company LolaVie’s new Intensive Repair Treatment, the Friends star expressed her excitement about the new product. But fans in the comments were quick to show their support not only for the product, but also for Jennifer’s choice to “lead the way on gray,” as one user wrote.

While the actor didn’t mention the color of her hair in her video, fans described her gray hair as “refreshing” and “empowering.”

"Your gray hair is BEAUTIFUL!" one person wrote. "It suits you so much and makes your eyes pop even more."

Another wrote: "Loving the gray! I finally gave in a few months ago and decided to just let my gray grow in!”

Jennifer is not the first female celebrity to embrace going gray. Jamie Lee Curtis quit dyeing her hair several years ago, not wanting to feel ashamed of looking her age. When Sarah Jessica Parker went out with her grays showing, people called her “brave” —something she told Allure she’s tired of hearing.

A common theme among women who have embraced the natural look as they age? They don’t seem to think it’s that big of a deal — it’s natural. But in our society, the aging process is often viewed as the exact opposite: a huge deal. Something to hide. Something to be ashamed of.

In 2022, Jennifer encouraged women to do what makes them happy, whether that’s going gray or coloring their hair. “I think everyone should feel confident in whatever choices they make, including embracing natural color or texture,” she told Glamour.

She noted that critics will always exist, but she’ll continue to focus on how to take care of herself, both physically and mentally.
