After putting their infant down for the night, Kale and Courtney Buchholtz were terrified by a sudden booming sound outside their home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At first, it sounded like a bolt of lightning so loud it made the walls shake.
But when the couple checked their baby monitor, Kale and Courtney realized a large tree had just come crashing down onto their home — and right into their son's nursery.
Five-month-old Cannon was asleep inside his crib as chunks of the walls and other debris came flying down, causing extensive damage to the entire house.
Kale and Courtney bolted upstairs to the nursery, fearing the worst — that they'd find Cannon badly injured or even lifeless.
Then, they heard Cannon crying.
