An incoming law student in Florida has entered the 2023 NBA draft after discovering a loophole in the eligibility requirements.
Jordan Haber, 21, told TikTok that he was bored one day and decided to read the NBA's collective bargaining agreement. Despite the fact that Jordan has never played basketball, he found language that indicated his eligibiilty on page 273 of the paperwork.
According to Jordan, eligibility requirements include graduating from a school in the United States within the academic year of the draft in question and being over 19 years old.
Jordan told The Los Angeles Times, "You really have a three-month, four-month window to really do this. And it’s because of that window, not many people are going to think to do it because they think, oh it’s a waste of time, there’s some paperwork to fill out. And it’s what it really is."

The paper writes that Jordan is one of 18 people who are labeled "unknown individuals" ahead of the draft.
Jordan was subsequently invited to the draft by the Barclays Center, which appears to be covering his entry fee.
