Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have welcomed their fifth baby together! The couple revealed the news on Instagram in an emotional post in which they shared that their youngest baby, a little boy named Wren Alexander, was born via surrogate.
Chrissy wrote most of the moving post, in which she explains that she always wanted to have four children.
Chrissy writes: "For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted four children. As a little girl, 2 glow worms and 2 cabbage patch dolls were perpetually in my arms, helping me stir in my pretend kitchen, watching Alf with me. We'd sleep together nightly, each getting the same amount of kisses as to not make the others jealous."
Chrissy and John lost their son, Jack, in 2020.
Chrissy reveals that she didn't plan to carry any more babies herself after Jack's death. In 2021, the couple inquired with a surrogacy agency about whether they could pursue two tandem surrogacies, welcoming a baby boy and a baby girl. But early on, Chrissy realized that she wanted to try to be pregnant one more time, so the couple pivoted. They began the IVF process, which they had gone through twice before, while also finding a surrogate.

The pair connected with their surrogate, Alexandra, who became part of their lives. Chrissy writes, "I knew she was the perfect match for us the moment we spoke to her. All our wishes and dreams aligned. I wanted to be her friend, I wanted our children to play, I wanted dinner together, I wanted to lay my head on her belly and be able to feel hiccups and kicks."
Alexandra lost a pregnancy early on, but they decided to persist.
The pair's son, Wren Alexander Stephens, was born on June 19, 2023.
Chrissy concludes, "Our hearts, and our home, are officially full. And to our Jack, we both know their angel kisses are from you."
