Reality stars Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky have faced a number of allegations of divorce and infidelity over the years. The pair, who first met in 1994 and married in 1996, share four children.
On July 3, 2023, a source told People that Kyle and Mauricio had separated. Rumors of impending divorce immediately followed, but were shut down by the couple in a joint statement.
Kyle and Mauricio met at Bar One when they were in their early 20s. At the time, Kyle was a mom to her daughter with ex-husband Guraish Aldjufrie. She had her first child at the age of 19.
Mauricio proposed to Kyle in 1994, the same year they met, and they got married in January 1996 after finding out they were expecting a child together.
The pair shot to notoriety in 2010, when Kyle joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. At this point, they had added three more daughters to their family.
Mauricio started his own real estate firm the following year.

The pair began defending their marriage in 2013, when they told People that their marriage had "no secrets." Mauricio explained, "We're the same, with or without cameras. We're just super real and we know each other and we're real."
He continued, "We don't have any secrets to hide. That's one thing we talked about, the skeletons in the closet, and we can handle our worst skeletons."
Rumors that Mauricio regularly cheats on Kyle have followed the couple for years. In 2021, Mauricio admitted to Entertainment Weekly that the rumors have made the couple stronger. As he put it, "If you can survive a marriage on reality TV, you can survive at all. There’s no question."
Kyle added, "It’s certainly not what we expected. I mean, I was an actor all my life and my family had been in the public eye, but we never expected this turn. I never expected to do reality television and what that would do to our lives. But we definitely face some challenges, because I think that when you have something great — and people see how happy you are — the more they kind of come after it."
The rumors were even addressed in season 13 of RHOBH, which Mauricio also blamed for being the root of the problem. As he said, "That one stupid story that came out there, and then the girls all, you know, decided to talk about it on the Housewives, and so now it’s a storyline. So there’s definitely some stories out there, and Kyle and I address it, and we’ll take it from there. It is what it is. It was addressed by the girls. They bought it up. They really bought it up to Kyle."
In 2022, Kyle's friend and costar Dorit Kemsley was accused of having an affair with Mauricio, something she vehemently denied. While speaking to Andy Cohen, Dorit explained: "Honey, listen, when something is so ridiculous, you just kind of discount it. It’s something that sticks a chord only because Mau, PK, Kyle and I, we’re friends together and it is such a nothing and to have someone start those vile rumors, it’s gross."
In 2023, rumors began circulating that claimed Kyle Richards is having her own affair with Morgan Wade, and that the relationship is part of the reason she and Mauricio are separated now. As reported by Page Six, a number of fans believe that Kyle and Morgan have matching tattoos and wear matching rings.
The pair have yet to address the rumors specific to Morgan.
On July 3, a source told People, "Kyle and Mauricio have been separated for a while now but are still living under the same roof. They remain amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family."
Kyle and Mauricio have also issued one statement in which they explain, "In regards to the news that came out about us today … Any claims regarding divorcing are untrue. However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously."
The statement continues, "There has been no wrongdoing on anyone's part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative."
