Mom Overhears Son Mocking Classmates Who Shop At Goodwill, So She Teaches Him A Lesson

Finding out that your child is being bullied is never fun for parents, who want nothing but the best for their kids. But what about finding out that your child is the bully? How would you respond? What would you do if you found out that your child was picking on other kids? The truth is, anyone can end up being a bully. But it's what we do about it when it's our own child that makes all the difference.

One mom overheard her son teasing some of his classmates because they shopped at Goodwill. So she took it upon herself to teach him a lesson that would last a lifetime.

The mother had received a note from her son's school detailing his bullying behavior. She called her son downstairs to read the note aloud, expressing her disappointment. "I want you to know that I am very ashamed of what you have done, son," she said. "Your father and I did not raise you and your sister this way. Just because you have money doesn't give you the right to trample on other people. It doesn't matter if you have a $50 T-shirt or $100 shoes, you're not superior to anyone. Just because a kid wears clothes from a store like Goodwill it doesn't define them as a person or a student. You're equals."

The boy held his head in shame, as his mom had never spoken to him with such disappointment. He apologized for his actions, but his mom wanted to find a way to make him realize the seriousness of what he did. After sending him to his room and doing some reflecting, the mom decided to take him to Goodwill to teach him a lesson. She made him spend $20 of his own money to buy clothes to wear for the entire week.
