Jessica Ross, 20, has filed a lawsuit against the Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia, as well as against the doctor and nurses who assisted in the delivery of her son, Treveon Isaiah Taylor Jr.
The lawsuit alleges fraud and negligence on the part of the hospital and the medical professionals. Ross also alleges that the doctor who performed her son's birth decapitated him in the process.
Ross went into labor on July 9, 2023. At some point, her baby's shoulder's were stuck in the birthing canal, which made it difficult for labor to continue. The suit alleges that instead of taking Ross in for a cesarean section, the doctor tried to manually pull the baby out.
The suit accuses the doctor of having "negligently applied excessive traction" which resulted in "Treveon Isaiah Taylor Jr.’s decapitation and death."
The lawsuit also claims that the baby's body and legs were removed during an eventual cesarean section, but his head was delivered vaginally.

Further, the hospital reportedly did not immediately tell the parents what happened to their son. Instead, staff allegedly tried to cover up the baby's decapitation, and the parents were only told what really happened four days later.
