Charlize Theron Speaks Out: ‘I’m Just Aging! It Doesn’t Mean I Got Bad Plastic Surgery’

People have been wondering if actress Charlize Theron had a facelift, and she has news for them: "I’m just aging! It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens." Though some people seem to be confused by the fact that women do indeed age, Charlize is embracing it.

"My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging," she shared with Allure.

She also pointed out that people could be more empathetic when it comes to how they deal with aging.

"I also think women want to age in a way that feels right to them," she said. "I think we need to be a little bit more empathetic to how we all go through our journey. My journey of having to see my face on a billboard is quite funny now."

She pointed out that when it comes to aging, there are still a lot of double standards, and she's tired of them. “I’ve always had issues with the fact that men kind of age like fine wines and women like cut flowers," she said.

She wishes that people could all view age in the way that her daughters do: as something that is not relevant or really noticeable. She says they have no real concept of aging.

"They see somebody, they like what they’re wearing, or they think they’re pretty and they don’t really know if she’s in her 20s or she’s in her 60s. It’s so great. I love that. I wish we could just maintain that,” she said.
