Mick Jagger Says He Might Not Give Money From Rolling Stones Music Catalog To His Kids

Mick Jagger says his kids don't need the money from the hypothetical sale of the Rolling Stones' music catalog. Instead, the musician suggested that he might want to give it to charity. “The children don’t need $500m to live well. Come on," Mick, 80, said when speaking to The Wall Street Journal. When speaking to the outlet, Mick explained that his portion of the band's music catalog from after 1971 might be better used to help make a positive impact.

“You maybe do some good in the world," he said. But Mick doesn't have the rights to all of the band's music. The band's former accounts company owns the copyrights to the Rolling Stones' music from before 1971. In this way, he was able to relate to Taylor Swift.

“The industry was so nascent, it didn’t have the support and the amount of people that are on tap to be able to advise you as they do now. But you know, it still happens. I mean, look what happened to Taylor Swift! I don’t really know the ins and outs of it, but she obviously wasn’t happy," he told The Wall Street Journal.
