Man Tries To Kick Squatters Out Of His Own Property But Police End Up Arresting Him

Home ownership is a dream for many, a place of refuge and sanctuary where one should feel safe and secure. However, for Tim Arko, a homeowner in suburban Atlanta, a routine visit to check on his property turned into a nightmarish ordeal that he never could have anticipated. What he encountered upon arriving at his Decatur residence left him shocked and bewildered, leading to an arrest that defied all logic.

The story began days after a previous tenant left Tim’s property. Tim decided to drop by his house to ensure everything was in order, like most reasonable and responsible landlords. What he didn’t expect was to be met with a chilling and dangerous surprise. As he pulled into his own driveway, a stranger suddenly appeared, brandishing a firearm and pointing it in his face.

Faced with this terrifying scenario, Tim made a quick decision to jump the fence and flee from the immediate danger. He told WSB-TV: “I just jumped the fence and ran. I didn’t know what else to do. I didn’t walk in on a family eating dinner. I walked in on weapons, a prostitute, a bunch of dogs in the back, and my fence broken down.”

Like any person in that kind of situation, Tim called 911 to report the random squatters who were living on his property without permission. Little did he know that his call for help would lead to an unthinkable twist. Instead of the squatters getting arrested, Tim was the one that was put in handcuffs.

The alleged squatters inside his home claimed that he was a home invader and insisted that the property was, in fact, theirs. The situation had taken an inexplicable and distressing turn, leaving Tim in disbelief. Since his unnecessary arrest, Tim has been fighting in court to evict the squatters.

He says the squatters have been in his house for six months. Since they have been there, two people have died in the home from overdoses. Code enforcement even cited Tim for not properly maintaining the house he legally can’t access. Fingers crossed that Tim gets this problem under control even though he shouldn’t be in this situation to begin with!
