Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Once Discovered A Patrol Lieutenant Is His Total Doppelgänger

Imagine how different life would be if you happened to look like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. For Patrol Lieutenant Eric Fields of Morgan County, Alabama, it's pretty simple. The two could be twins.

Eric has gone viral based on the physical similarities he shares with the actor and movie star. And, of course, that means that Dwayne himself was able to spot and share the comparison picture.

"Oh (expletive)! Wow," he tweeted, sharing a picture of Eric on the left and Dwayne on the right. The two also happened to have the same stance and pose, making the comparison even more uncanny. "Guy on the left is way cooler," Dwayne added.

The Morgan County Sheriff's Office was the first to put the image out. "This gentlemen recently ran into our Sgt. Mason and informed him he wanted to meet our Deputy that people say looks like 'The Rock,'" the office wrote. " Sgt. Mason passed that along and Lieutenant Fields was happy to swing by the Hartselle Walmart to see him."

The Rock found the tweet thanks to the sports website Bleacher Report, which likely knew the comparison would get a ton of traffic. The Rock is such a talented force that having two Dwayne Johnsons would be a joy. Of course, the real Dwayne made sure to wish his doppelgänger well.

"Stay safe brother and thank you for your service. One day we’ll drink @Teremana and I need to hear all your 'Rock stories' because I KNOW you got ‘em," he said.

Eric has reportedly become somewhat of a local celebrity based on his similar appearance. Perhaps if this cop thing doesn't work out, he can professionally imitate The Rock for parties. Knowing he already has Dwayne's approval makes the gig even more legitimate.

Eric was actually interviewed about it before, and he admitted it's been an ongoing thing for years. Eric is 37 years old and has been an officer for 17 years. Instead of being annoyed by the comparison, Eric admits that he's actually flattered.

"I've been called The Rock and Vin Diesel's love child," he told the publication. "I go along with it. It's humorous. It's flattering. It could be worse people, I guess." That's a good point. When someone says you resemble Dwayne Johnson, it'll always be meant as a compliment.

Eric seems to get a kick out of the people who want to meet him just for his star factor. To him, it doesn't get old. "He's the real celebrity," Eric said about the man who asked his coworker to meet him. "Everybody knew him and loved him. It was a blessing to me. I go trying to bless someone else, and I come out with the blessing of meeting him. I wish the actual Rock could meet this kid. He's the hometown hero."

That said, Eric is worried about eventually disappointing someone someday. "I walk up one day and at a different angle, I don’t know," he thought out loud. "It's flattering, but it's also a little nerve-racking as far as what others expect I guess." While he may bring the joy and spirit of The Rock, hopefully his local fans know that he's a completely different person on the inside.

Eric said that he loves to laugh and has a good sense of humor, so that also must make the constant comparisons a little easier. "I really couldn't be anybody but me," he said. "I'm just glad I could be part of someone's happiness and laughter." Surely, he's in plenty of people's photo albums based on the number of photographs he's been asked to pose in.

It's good to know that Eric is lighthearted about it. Surely, the comparisons all come from a good place, and The Rock is someone worth emulating. Not many people become a highly sought-after actor after a long career in the WWE.

The comparison is likely how Eric racked up thousands of Instagram followers. Perhaps with time, he'll become famous on social media. While it's hard to predict the future, one thing's for sure — Dwayne and Eric need to meet up in person someday. And they need to take plenty of photos together. Maybe Vin Diesel can tag along, too.
