Every marriage has its own rules, but most of them stay within the confines of that marriage. In today's world, couple influencers are breaking the once hush-hush rules of relationships by talking with others, especially online, about what makes their marriage work.
Bailey McPherson and husband Zac are one such couple. Bailey caught fire on TikTok for a video she shared. "Rules my husband and I have for our marriage that make people ANGRY," she titled the video.

She was spot-on about the expected reaction. As people heard the rules that she and Zac abide by, they openly bashed the couple and their way of keeping each other accountable.
In her video, Bailey McPherson lays out the rules that keep her marriage going. They are not allowed to have friends of the opposite sex. "No work gfs/bfs or being alone with the opposite sex," she continued.
"No texting the opposite sex without the other knowing."
In a part two, she laid out some more of their rules. "No lusting after others (no following scandalous pages)," she continued. Additionally, they aren't allowed to consume pornography.
"Always put each other first (even over parents)," Bailey concluded.
Bailey was forced to disable comments on the video after people slammed the rules. They believed the rules illustrated a lot of insecurity and a lack of trust. Bailey responded to the claim in a later video.
"So it's not a lack of trust thing so much as it's just a boundary of respect that we both feel is right for us," she explained.
"I personally feel that as a married woman, I have no need, no need for a companionship with another man that I cannot get with my husband," she continued.
"My husband has no need for companionship with another woman that he cannot get from his wife. I feel like if you personally feel like you do need those companionships, specifically with the opposite sex, that you cannot somehow get from your spouse or those of the same sex, there's a problem."
For as many as disagreed with Bailey and Zac's rules, a lot were quick to go to bat for them. Many said they have similar rules in their marriages, particularly the porn ban, which they credit for increased intimacy in their own relationships.
