Kaitlin Armstrong was found guilty of first-degree murder of professional cyclist Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson. A Texas jury convicted the 35-year-old on November 16, 2023, after deliberating for nearly three hours.
Armstrong was sentenced to 90 years in prison. Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty. Wilson, 25, was an elite gravel-racing star. On May 11, 2022, Armstrong shot her three times after having dinner with pro cyclist Colin Strickland, who was allegedly involved in a love triangle with the two women.
Strickland testified on November 6, 2023, that he and Armstrong had an on-again, off-again relationship for about three years. He stated that he'd been romantically involved with Wilson while he and Armstrong were on a break.
When he and Armstrong got back together, he continued to stay in contact with Wilson, but saved her number under a different name to avoid conflict. However, Armstrong had access to Strickland's messages on a laptop in their home, which is how she learned about him still being in contact with Wilson.
