On January 1, 2023, Jeremy Renner attempted to help his nephew get a stuck vehicle out of the snow in Reno, Nevada. His good deed almost turned deadly when Jeremy was crushed by his snowplow while preventing it from hitting his nephew. The accident almost killed him, and broke over 30 bones in his body.
Jeremy underwent several surgeries. His biggest motivation to get better was his 10-year-old daughter Ava. He took to Instagram on January 1, 2024, to share his appreciation for her love.
Jeremy shared a sweet black-and-white photo of him and Ava embracing. We can infer that the two were ringing in 2024 because of Ava’s festive hat.
“Reason number One for my recovery is her,” Jeremy captioned the photo. “I asked her to 'wait for me' when I first saw her January 14 as I arrived home. As I got better, she got better, less afraid. There is simply no better motivator to recover than to heal your family and friends.”
Jeremy shares Ava with ex Sonni Pacheco. He became a dad at age 42 and thinks it is the best thing that ever happened to him. He loves being Ava’s dad.
Jeremy also thanked all his friends, family, and fans for their support during his recovery. “With gratitude always , thank you all for your love and support this last full year. I needed every ounce of goodwill and prayer ,” he went on to say.
