If you haven't heard of Toco the human collie, then you're in for a real surprise! The Japanese man who spent nearly $16,000 on a realistic dog costume recently had himself filmed as he tried to conquer an agility course.
And let's just say … he didn't put his best paw forward. Dog trainers viewed the footage posted to Toco's YouTube account and weighed in with their opinions, ultimately agreeing that he needs a lot of improvement before having a chance to compete at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
“I don’t know how he maneuvers in that contraption because it looks like it’s challenging for sure,” said Brianne Farr, a dog trainer and owner of Trinity Border Collies. She went on to note that his failure to clear a jump would have resulted in immediate disqualification in the competition.
“He definitely needs to work on his jumping skills,” Brianne continued as she critiqued the video. “Overall, I think it was a bit of a struggle for him.”

She believes that with more training, Toco might stand a chance. “I have had dogs come to me for training that really lacked coordination and jumping skills and things like that because some dogs don’t have the natural ability and there’s a lot of training to help teach them how to do that stuff."
