Three Kansas City Chiefs fans were found dead outside of their friend's house after going there to watch a playoff game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The three men, who were identified as Ricky Johnson, 38, Clayton McGeeney, 36, and David Harrington, 37, reportedly went to a home in Kansas City on January 7, 2024, but when the men didn't return home, the fiancée of one of them went to the house Tuesday, January 9. She called the police after arriving at the home and finding a body outside of it, WDAF reported.
In addition to the body that the woman saw on the back porch at the home, police discovered two more bodies in the backyard once they arrived. Kansas City Police Capt. Jake Becchina said that the men's deaths are not being investigated as a homicide.
“There have not been any arrests [or] charges, and no one is in custody. There are no specific threats or concerns for the surrounding community at this time,” he said, adding that the man who lived at the house cooperated with the police.

Police are still waiting on autopsy results and other tests, but foul play is not suspected, WDAF reported.
The man who lived at the house where the deaths occurred had "no knowledge that they remained in his backyard or that they needed medical attention," according to his attorney, John Picerno.
Picerno also said that the man went to bed and his friends left the house, which was the last time that the man saw them. Their cars were reportedly parked on the street, and the man didn't see them.
The attorney also claims that the man didn't get any calls from anyone between the time that they watched the game and the time that the bodies were found. Two people reportedly tried to stop by the house and the man didn't open the door. His attorney says that he was sleeping with a loud fan on.
The wife of one of the men also attempted to connect with the man via Facebook Messenger but he allegedly didn't see the message.
The men's loved ones are still searching for answers though. Caleb McGeeney, Clayton McGeeney’s cousin, told WDAF that the story seems to have "a lot of holes in it." "Like last time he saw them, they were leaving the house, but he didn’t know they had left; that doesn’t make much sense,” he told the outlet.
The men's loved ones told The Kansas City Star that the night the men watched the game together was the last time they heard from them. But the man's attorney said the man doesn't have any answers either. “[The man who lives at the house] is unaware of how his friends died,” Picerno told The Kansas City Star. "Like the rest of us, [he] is anxiously awaiting the results of the autopsy and toxicology report."
Harrington’s mother, Jennifer Marquez, told FOX4 that she's "furious." “Nobody believes this story. None of his friends, none of the families, none of us believe," she said.
She also told The Kansas City Star that she has had to stay away from social media because of the rumors, assumptions, and negativity circulating on different platforms.
“At this point, I can’t even guess what happened,” she told The Kansas City Star. "We don’t have answers from the police yet. We don’t know anything yet. All I want to happen is to find out why, and if there’s a reason, I want there to be justice.”
