Darius Rucker Arrested And Booked On Three Misdemeanor Charges In Tennessee

Country singer Darius Rucker was arrested in Williamson County, Tennessee, and booked on minor drug charges on February 1, 2024. The 57-year-old musician was booked on three separate charges, which were misdemeanors. They were two counts of simple possession/casual exchange of a controlled substance, and one count of a violation of the state’s vehicle registration law. The "It Won't Be Like This For Long" singer was released from jail on the same day as being booked after posting the $10,500 bond.

His attorney, Mark Puryear, says that he “is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges.” No further information on what led to his arrest has yet been shared.

Rucker has a performance scheduled in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry House on Friday, February 2. He's supposed to host two more shows at that same venue on February 6 and March 12. From there, he has some performance dates in Europe.

As of now, it is unknown if his arrest will impact his February 2 concert. In a 2013 interview, the singer spoke about his former lifestyle with drugs. "Doing drugs and drinking every night — I've done that," he said at the time. "Trust me, I've done enough for everybody. And it's just not how I want to live anymore."
