The British royal family is in mourning. Thomas Kingston, the husband of Lady Gabriella Kingston, was found dead on Sunday February 25, 2024. His cause of death is not known at this time but no foul play is suspected. Emergency officials responded to a call to his residence at around 6 p.m. local time.
Lady Gabriella is King Charles’ second cousin. She is not a working royal but is currently 56th in line for the throne. Her parents are Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. Thomas also dated Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa before marrying Gabriella. He was 45 years old at the time of his death.
Thomas worked as a financier at Devonport Capital. His family issued a statement about his passing. "It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the death of Thomas Kingston, our beloved husband, son and brother,” it began. “Tom was an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him. His death has come as a great shock to the whole family, and we ask you to respect our privacy as we mourn his passing."
Buckingham Palace also acknowledged the sad situation. "The King and The Queen have been informed of Thomas’s death and join Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and all those who knew him in grieving a much-loved member of the family,” a spokesperson stated. “In particular, Their Majesties send their most heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Gabriella and to all the Kingston family.”
