Strangers Invade Tween Girl’s House, But She Bravely Calls 911: ‘They Will Kill Me’

No matter where you are in life, your home should be a sanctuary where you always feel safe and at ease. When that sense of security becomes threatened, especially if you’re a child with no responsible adult in sight, it can feel like your entire life is being taken from you.

This story centers around an 11-year-old girl named Ashley Bermudez of Meadow Woods, Florida. The young girl was in a harrowing situation where her bravery would be challenged beyond belief.

According to ABC News, Bermudez “retreated to a closet in her upstairs bedroom” when she saw an “unknown vehicle” pull into the driveway of her home. Three suspects got out of the vehicle, quickly entered her house, and took an estimated $13,000 worth of items.

The news outlet reports that Bermudez was home alone during her winter break while her mother was out running an errand when the suspects broke into her house. As she hid in the closet, the scared 11-year-old called 911 and pleaded with the dispatcher to “send help.”

The suspects later entered the bedroom where Bermudez was hiding in the closet and knocked down a door. Bermudez can be heard on the 911 call pleading with the suspects, but they soon fled the scene after discovering the child.
