Prince Louis posed for his sixth birthday portrait, something that has become a royal tradition. Kate Middleton took the photo of her son, sharing it with a short and sweet message in honor of his birthday. "Happy 6th Birthday, Prince Louis! Thank you for all the kind wishes today."
Given the scrutiny recent photos edited by the Princess of Wales have come under, royal fans weren't quite sure if the Prince and Princess of Wales would continue with the royal tradition for their children's birthdays this year. The latest photo does not appear to have been edited.
In March 2024, Kate fell under scrutiny for editing a photo for Mother's Day in the UK that was taken by Prince William. The photo was dropped by multiple news agencies and even flagged by Instagram because it had been digitally altered. "The same altered photo was reviewed in another post by fact-checkers. There may be small differences. Independent fact-checkers say the photo or image has been edited in a way that could mislead people, but not because it was shown out of context," the warning on Instagram reads.
The birthday photo of Prince Louis shows him lying on a blanket in the grass while smiling directly at the camera.
"Love the Princess of Wales's typically calm and serene style of photography," one person commented. "Happy 6th Birthday Prince Louis!"
