Beaverton, Oregon, Woman Catches Neighbor On Video After Years Of Hate Notes From Her

An Oregon woman is suing her neighbor for nearly $250,000 after finding she is responsible for the hateful messages left on her car for the past two years.

The woman is Asian and lives in the Beaverton area with her Hispanic partner. Since 2020, she and her partner have received over 20 notes on each of their cars. The notes came from an anonymous author who lambasted them in rants that included racist and homophobic content.

These hateful notes were bagged before being taped to their cars, preventing any elements from getting in the way of the message being delivered. Though they were previously fleeting messages, 14 of the 21 were received this year. Their nature has become more threatening, prompting the recipients to contact a private investigator.

The investigator recommended putting a camera in each of the cars. The camera in the partner's car finally answered their questions, showing a clear shot of the woman responsible. They were able to identify the woman as a neighbor, Lorna Hunter.

Inside Edition spoke with Hunter, who didn't deny being responsible for the notes. She did say she wanted to handle the matter privately, saying that she "did a stupid thing and I just want to get on with my life."

The couple has filed a lawsuit seeking $245,000 from the 57-year-old neighbor for the distress this situation has caused. Both women have sought counseling for fears related to being watched.
