Kentucky Sheriff’s Office Celebrates Arrival Of 15 New Babies In One Year: ‘Baby Boom’

It appears that many people are getting lucky in Kentucky. The Boone County Sheriff's Office in Burlington had 15 employees welcome a baby in 2023. Just think of all the work baby showers that must have been organized, not to mention balancing all the parental leave.

The department has a pretty healthy sense of humor about the situation. It took to Facebook to celebrate the bumper year and the post soon went viral. The picture it posted featured the proud new parents with their babies and was taken by Kyla Scudder. This even caught the attention of Good Morning America.

The post was captioned: “We’re growing in more than one way. BCSO Baby Boom, circa 2023.” It received over 2,000 likes. Three hundred people commented on it and 200 people shared it on their profiles.

The posted photo came about because of public information officer Philip Ridgell. "We knew that a lot of our deputies were having children. But man, when you look at that picture, it really puts it into some perspective," he explained to GMA.

Philip wanted to celebrate not only these new parents but also the entire department. "Our agency is made up of men and women who have deep ties to the community," he continued. "Oftentimes, many of them were born and raised here and we're more committed and more now than one way, to this county and ensuring its safety." There’s a good chance one of those 15 babies will follow in their parents' footsteps and protect and serve the community.
