Princess Diana was born Lady Diana Frances Spencer on July 1, 1961. Her parents were the Viscount and Viscountess Althorp until her father inherited the earldom. She had three siblings Sarah, Jane, and Charles.
These days Charles Spencer is the 9th Earl Spencer. On June 8, 2024, he confirmed to the Daily Mail that he and his wife Karen Gordon are getting a divorce. They had been married for 13 years.
“It is immensely sad,” Charles told the Daily Mail. “I just want to devote myself to all my children, and to my grandchildren, and I wish Karen every happiness in the future.”
Charles and Karen, a Canadian-born entrepreneur, first met in 2010. They were set up in Los Angeles on a blind date. They got married the following year at Charles’ family estate in England, Althorp. This is where Diana is buried.

Charles and Karen share a daughter, Charlotte Diana. She was named in honor of his late sister. Charles also shares four children with ex-wife Victoria Lockwood and two with ex-wife Caroline Freud. Karen also has two daughters from her previous marriage to Mark Gordon.
Daily Mail speculated that Charles and Karen’s relationship ultimately ended because of Charles’ memoir, A Very Private School. In it, he details sexual abuse he suffered at boarding school. He also reveals he lost his virginity to a sex worker at age 12.
