Cause of Death Revealed For YouTube Star Ben Potter Who Died At Age 40: ‘He Was My World’

Ben Potter, the YouTuber behind Comicstorian, has died at age 40 and a cause of death has been revealed. Ben, who had more than 3 million subscribers on YouTube, died on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

His wife, Nathalie Potter, initially shared the news on X, writing that Ben "passed away in an unfortunate accident." She did not provide any details about the accident. Now, the Colorado State Patrol has shared that Ben died as a result of a single-vehicle car crash, which is still under investigation, People reported.

In a press release shared with People, the Colorado State Patrol said that Ben's vehicle "traveled off the right shoulder of the interstate. He continued to cross over the frontage road paralleling the interstate before rolling his vehicle multiple times."

They also noted that he "succumbed to injuries from the crash while at the scene." He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, CSP shared.

On X, Ben's wife wrote that although many people knew Ben as Comicstorian, he was also "one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for."

"He would do his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay. He was our rock and he'd reassure his loved ones whenever they needed it," she wrote. "He was my world and I need time to be with friends and family."

"Ben spent over 10 years spreading his love and appreciation for his hobbies. It was through his love of exciting stories and well written characters that got him started on YouTube," she continued, noting that she'd like to keep his channel going "to honor him by continuing to tell great stories by great people, as well as to keep the memory of our very own superhero alive."
