Kris Jenner Gets Candid About Cheating On Deceased Husband Robert Kardashian

Things weren't always so glamorous for Kris Jenner.

The internationally famous momager of the Kardashian Klan recently opened up about her decades-old drama with ex-husband Robert Kardashian, and she admits that a mistake she made in that relationship was her biggest regret in life.

In an interview with Harvey Levin (of TMZ) on OBJECTified, Kris was very candid about the scandal that ended their marriage — namely, cheating on her husband with "a soccer player." She discusses how their marriage spiraled after the affair came to light and eventually ended their 13-year union.

Her answers are refreshingly candid in the interview. She's willing to talk about some struggles that are completely inconceivable for her family these days — can you imagine them not being able to afford fruit at the grocery store? — and what it meant to her for that relationship to fall apart.

This will have you seeing Kris Jenner in a whole new light…

The throwback pictures of the couple are adorable — as long as you temporarily forget how this all ended.

Kris was 22 years old when she married Robert, and she became pregnant with Kourtney on their honeymoon.

Over the next 13 years, they would have three more children, none of whom need an introduction.

But smiles aside, the relationship wasn't destined to last. Kris first admitted to her affair in her 2011 memoir Kris Jenner… and All Things Kardashian, saying that he was a soccer player 10 years younger than her.

The affair took place in 1989; she was divorced two years later.

She says in this most recent interview, "I did [cheat], I did. Which wasn’t — nothing I’m proud of. When I look back on it now, probably one of my biggest regrets in my life is that that marriage fell apart.”

In this preview, she goes on to talk about all the ways it negatively affected her life. She asserts that the most difficult part was when Robert eventually filed for divorce, "Because it made it real. Like, you think you’re going to come through this period — that was really hard for me.”

The anecdote that has most people talking revolves around — wait for it — a tomato.

Kris explains that, after Robert cut her off, "I didn’t have anything. I went to the market one day, and my credit card didn’t work. I had a market credit card, and I’m like, ‘I can’t even buy a tomato.’"

It's not the first time she's talked about the situation in an interview format. In 2016 she claimed that this divorce was one of her only life regrets. “I had a wonderful, beautiful life with Robert," she'd say. "He was just an amazing man.”

Robert died in 2003 after a short fight with cancer, but his impact on the family has never gone away.

Kris' daughters have all been molded by their mom's experiences; Khloé in particular has commented on the scandal, saying on an episode of Kocktails With Khloé, “I saw how it destroyed my dad. I saw what it it did to my dad so I don’t want to do that. I also saw the regret from my mom.”

Needless to say, this interview and admission from Kris is drawing strong reactions from fans.

And when we say "strong reactions," we mean a lot of negativity. Which is understandable given the topic

Most of the comments look something like this. You can't dredge up a scandalous past and not create harsh feelings.

Not that Kris just lost her entire fanbase…

There are still legions of KUWTK fans who have the family's back through thick and thin.

And it's not like the Kardashians are used to universal popularity anyway. They might just be the most polarizing people outside of politics.

So you probably don't have to worry about Kris' feelings getting hurt by a bunch of nasty comments. In fact, you've got to imagine she feels better being open about the situation rather than keeping it bottled up inside!
