A man who was trying to attend a Taylor Swift concert in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, ended up getting arrested instead. The man, whose name has not been revealed, reportedly had a ticket to Taylor's Eras Tour show on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, but because he allegedly threatened Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, on social media, he was denied entry to the concert. The Associated Press reported that the man, a 34-year-old American, was arrested during entry checks for the show. Taylor's Eras Tour show on July 17 was one of several shows in the city of Gelsenkirchen.
Because of the threats the man allegedly made on social media, a local court decided that he would be detained throughout Taylor's time in the German city. Police said that Taylor and the Swifties in the audience that night were not in danger during the concert, but the man was arrested "because an initial investigation couldn’t entirely rule out a risk," per AP.
According to the outlet, police arrested the man after receiving tips from event organizers. It's unclear what the threats against Taylor and Travis were.
On social media, fans noticed that Travis' dad, Ed Kelce, reacted to the news. Ed shared an article about the alleged stalker on Facebook, and captioned it with "Love to know who this some-b—- is."
