Former Beauty Pageant Contestant Allegedly Killed By Her Husband In Gruesome Murder

Kristina Joksimovic, a former Miss Switzerland finalist, was reportedly murdered in February 2024. The suspected homicide took place in Binningen, a municipality in Switzerland. Now, based on their investigation, local authorities believe that the 38-year-old beauty pageant contestant was strangled by her husband before he pureed some of her remains in a blender.

While authorities didn't outwardly identify the victim in their report, Joksimovic was named in medical reports cited by The Telegraph.

Her husband, who was only referred to as Thomas in articles written by The Telegraph and BBC, had told police he found his wife dead by the stairs and panicked, according to local news outlet Basellandschaftliche Zeitung. He allegedly did admit to dismembering her. However, in March, he admitted to killing Joksimovic and claimed it was self-defense.

An autopsy report showed that the victim was dismembered with a jig saw and garden shears, before being chopped up and dissolved in a blender. The report added that
Thomas "pureed" the remains in the blender and that he dissolved them in a chemical.

The couple were parents to two children. The public prosecutor's office has not yet filed charges against the husband, who is currently in custody. The investigations revealed that Thomas has a history of being violent, and had allegedly strangled Joksimovic several times in the past. The report stated that he had a "noticeably high level of criminal energy, lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness after killing his wife."
