A man who attempted to make a dessert dish had … well, quite the interesting result. The Reddit user put his baking skills to the test when he decided to make a pie.
The pie, however, turned out to be not so glamorous in looks, and the baker suggests that he may have inadvertently "created a portal into the underworld." Detailing his experience, he opened up about how his mixed berry pie turned into an internet sensation.

Speaking to Newsweek, the man said that he thought making the pie "would be easy." After baking the dish at 350 Fahrenheit for 90 minutes, he was taken aback to pull a bubbly, black pie from the oven. "I was horrified when I removed the pie from the oven, questioning what I was even looking at," he said.
"I expected the mixture to fill two pie deep dish crusts, so I was baffled that it all fit into one. This, apparently, was necessary to allow for two consistencies," he continued. "The contrasting consistency of goo and caramelized top complimented each other well, but it had barely enough sugar to caramelize without burning." He jokingly added, "I was trying to keep it simple; it was not my intent to doom mankind by opening a gateway to the unknown."

The post gained viral attention on Reddit.
"May I steal this recipe for later? Me and my friend have plans to bring back the dark lord, but we have no idea how to do the ritual without leaving the comfort of our homes nor raising suspicion!" one user wrote, with the original poster replying with his full recipe.
"I can hear its screams ," another person quipped.
"Staring into this abyss is strangely hypnotizing," someone else joked. "I can't seem to look away from it. (I'm doomed, aren't I?)."
