10 Times Prince George Was A Perfect Little Gentleman

Even before he was born, Prince George of Wales was famous. As a member of the British royal family, his life will always attract the attention of the public eye. His parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, attempt to keep him as grounded as possible.

George was born on July 22, 2013, during the reign of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II. When she died in 2022, he became second in line to the throne. That is a big responsibility to shoulder but this now 11-year-old has shown he is up for the challenge. Here are 10 times he was the perfect gentleman.

George's First Public Appearance

As is royal tradition, Prince George’s first public appearance came just one day after he was born. He was presented by his parents on the steps of the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London. His full name, George Alexander Louis, was announced on July 24, 2013.

His Christening

George, like his great-grandmother, grandfather, and eventually his father, is destined to become the head of the Church of England one day. This made his christening extra special. It was performed by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury at St James’s Palace. Future romantic partners can poke fun at his royal highness’s frilly baptismal gown.

The 2014 Royal Tour to Australia

In 2014, Prince George accompanied his parents on his first royal tour. The young family spent three weeks in Australia and New Zealand. Although this was mostly a work trip, there were moments of family fun as well. George got to visit the Bilbies at the Taronga Zoo.

2015 Trooping the Colour

In June 2015, George made a rare public appearance to celebrate his great-grandma’s birthday. He joined his family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the Trooping the Colour festivities. He got lots of practice waving to onlookers.

Prince George Meets His Sister

In May 2015, George’s sister Princess Charlotte was born. George went to the hospital to meet her. He and dad wore coordinating blue outfits for the occasion. George got in some more waves on the way into the Lindo Wing.

Young Prince George gets to meet lost of interesting people. In April 2016, then-President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle had dinner at Kensington Palace with Kate and William. George made an appearance in his pajamas and bathrobe. When you are 2 years old, you get away with stuff like that. Barack Obama called him “adorable.”

The Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

In 2018, Prince George helped his uncle out by serving as a page boy in his wedding to Meghan Markle. He looked dashing doing so. He appeared to have a good time as well chatting while walking down the aisle with the bride. His sister Charlotte served as a bridesmaid.

King Charles' and Queen Camilla's Coronation

George was on hand to watch his grandfather and step-grandmother get crowned king and queen, respectively. He served as one of four Pages of Honor at their coronation. He was the youngest of the bunch, which put a lot of pressure on the then-9-year-old. The eyes of the world were on him because he is a future king.

2024 was a difficult year for Prince George’s family. His mother, Kate Middleton, revealed she was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer. George was able to help out his dad by attending British soccer’s most prestigious event, the Emirates FA Cup Final, with him. The father-son duo also presented the trophy to Manchester United Football Club after their victory.

2024 Trooping the Colour

In 2024, Prince George turned 11 years old. As the eldest of three, he has big brother responsibilities beyond his royal ones. (Prince Louis was born in 2018.)  George continues to attend the annual Trooping the Colour festivities, waving proudly alongside his family from the balcony of Buckingham Palace. One can only wonder if he knows that one day this celebration will be for him.
