Drew Barrymore, who has two daughters, was thrilled to discover that one of her daughters actually enjoyed watching one of her movies. On The Drew Barrymore Show, the Never Been Kissed actress shared that she recently found one of her daughters watching 50 First Dates, the 2004 romantic comedy that Drew starred in alongside Adam Sandler.
To make the moment even sweeter, Drew’s daughter chose to watch the movie with one of Adam Sandler’s daughters. Drew is mom to 12-year-old Olive and 10-year-old Frankie. She didn’t share which daughter was watching the film. Adam also has two daughters: 16-year-old Sunny and 18-year-old Sadie.
Drew was excited to find out that both girls were genuinely interested in watching the movie. “Your kids will — a lot of the time — reject so many things about you that when you see them embracing something, you’re like, ‘Oh, how fantastic!'” she shared on her show while speaking to Montana Jordan and Emily Osment.

Drew admitted that she was skeptical when she first saw her daughter and Adam’s daughter watching the movie together. “My daughter and Adam’s daughter were watching it at my house the other night and I was like, ‘Why are you guys watching this? Don’t you get enough of me and your dad?'” Drew said.
However, Drew realized that the girls were excited about the film. “They were just so happy and I was like, ‘Oh, but this is so sweet and wonderful,'” she said.
While on the show, actress Emily Osment admitted that she just watched the movie for the first time even though it came out in 2004. Her husband is a big fan of it, so she watched it with him a couple months ago. Emily told Drew that when she watched it for the first time, she “sobbed.” Drew responded with, “That makes me so happy.”
Though Drew shared the cute anecdote about her daughter’s interest in 50 First Dates, she tends to keep her children out of the public eye. In addition to expressing an interest in Drew’s films, her daughters have also expressed an interest in acting. In April, Drew told People about how her experience as a child actor has motivated her to keep her children out of the spotlight. When it comes to allowing her children to pursue acting, she says now is not the time.
“As a parent, I would really love to support my kids when they’re older. Again, what number is that? I don’t know, but it’s not 13 and it’s probably not 14,” she told the publication.
