New York City police are petitioning the community to share any information they may have about a missing Florida woman. Joslyn Garrido, a 40-year-old mom from Kissimmee, was visiting her sister in New York. But she vanished on November 25, 2024, after escaping from the back of an ambulance.
The private ambulance was transporting Garrido from the Weill Cornell Medical Center on the Upper East Side to White Plains Hospital when she escaped.

Garrido was wearing scrubs and sweatpants.
At the time of her disappearance, Garrido was wearing blue scrubs and gray sweatpants, Patch reports. Just before her disappearance, she was outside 1300 York Avenue near East 69th Street at about 12:30 p.m., authorities say.
Police have provided the following description: Garrido is a Hispanic woman with a light complexion. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5’6″ and weighs 150 pounds.

The reason she was hospitalized is unknown.
Police released her picture to the public a few hours after her disappearance. Her sister told UpperEastSite that Garrido has a young son. She also said she’s worried about her sister’s health and hopes she’ll return safely. She didn’t provide a reason why her sister was in the ambulance or what medical care she needed.
A friend of Garrido's issued her own personal plea.
Jessica Ramos, a friend of Garrido, shared her picture on X, formerly Twitter, with this message: “One of my dear friends is missing and I’m asking everyone to please share this. Joslyn is one of the most beautiful human beings in the world. Please God! Please let her be safe.”
When a user shared information about her case on Reddit, people had questions.
“There’s so many cameras in this city, can’t someone look at them and figure this out?” one user asked.
Many others offered well wishes.
“Hope she is found soon safely, that area is a very sleepy, safe area,” one person commented. “Hoping nothing bad happened to her.”
Police are asking for people with info to come forward.
