Kathy Griffin Says She Wants To Be The Next Golden Bachelorette

What’s next for Kathy Griffin? If she had it her way, she would be looking for love on reality TV with the country’s most eligible senior bachelors. In fact, if she had an opportunity to be on The Golden Bachelorette, the comedian, 64, would search for her perfect match in a fairly unconventional way: by sleeping with each bachelor right away.

On the November 25, 2024, episode of iHeartRadio’s Politickin‘ podcast with California Gov. Gavin Newsom, former NFL player Marshawn Lynch, and sports agent Doug Hendrickson, Kathy explained her vision when asked about her love life. Instead of directly explaining whether or not she’s dating anyone at the moment, the comedian joked that she thinks she should be on The Golden Bachelorette.

“The current [Golden Bachelorette] is great. I love her,” Kathy acknowledged. However, she thinks she should be chosen next.

She shared her pitch with the podcast hosts. “So Kathy Griffin’s the Golden Bachelorette. The first episode where there’s the most bachelors and the most roses, I f— each one,” Kathy explained. “Each one, and then I decide.”

Explaining her vision in more detail, Kathy said, “no hidden cameras, just a little blurring here and there for the cellulite. Boom! Ratings gold.” One of the podcast hosts, Doug, works as a sports agent, and while his work is not related to the reality TV show, he told Kathy he might be able to help her out.

I know people at The Bachelorette, maybe we can make that happen,” he said.

While Kathy’s idea might seem a bit far-fetched, it’s not entirely unrealistic. Per Entertainment Weekly, an ABC insider said the network is open to considering Kathy for the role. The comedian has been open about the way her most recent divorce has impacted her and her mental health.

In 2023, Kathy filed for divorce from Randy Bick. During a recent interview, she admitted that she’s “heartbroken” because she thought she’d be with Randy forever and didn’t think she’d be single at this time in her life.

“I just didn’t think I’d be alone at this stage of the game, but hey, that’s on me. And I guess, I obviously have [to take] full responsibility,” she told Page Six.
