Barack and Michelle Obama celebrated more than three decades of marital bliss with Valentine’s Day messages posted to social media Friday.
“If there’s one person I can always count on, it’s you, @BarackObama. You’re my rock. Always have been. Always will be. Happy Valentine’s Day, honey,” the former first lady posted on her social media pages.
The 44th president of the United States responded with a message posted to his Instagram and X accounts.
“Thirty-two years together and you still take my breath away. Happy Valentine’s Day, @MichelleObama!” Barack Obama wrote.
The postings come amid unsubstantiated rumors the powerhouse couple could be on the rocks. Michelle Obama was not at her husband’s side when he attended former President Jimmy Carter’s January 9 state funeral or President Donald Trump’s inauguration 11 days later in Washington, DC.

Michelle Obama posted a message to Instagram after Joe Biden defeated Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election that it wasn’t easy for her and Barack Obama to welcome Trump to the White House in 2017 when he became the nation’s 45th president.
“Donald Trump had spread racist lies about my husband that had put my family in danger,” she wrote. “That wasn’t something I was ready to forgive. But I knew that, for the sake of our country, I had to find the strength and maturity to put my anger aside.”
The former first lady would’ve almost certainly found herself associating with the president had she attended either of the events she skipped last month. Her husband was seated alongside Trump during the service for Carter held at the Washington National Cathedral.
The Obamas married in October 1992. They have two adult daughters.
