President Donald Trump recently made headlines when he said he’s “not sure” if he’s “heaven-bound.” On October 12, the president told Fox News‘ Peter Doocy, “I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in heaven.” But his son Eric Trump vehemently disagrees with this prediction. During a recent appearance on the Benny Show podcast, Eric praised his father and said his dad “will go to heaven” for everything he’s done.
From Eric’s perspective, these amazing deeds include putting an end to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, getting people to “value their children” again, and “saving God.” Eric is currently promoting his new book, Under Siege, and in the process, has made a variety of interesting claims. Previously, he asserted that Democrats tried to destroy his family and get his parents divorced, for example.
More recently, while in conversation with commentator Benny Johnson, Eric said, “We’re saving Christianity, we’re saving God, we’re saving the family unit, we’re saving this nation.” In attempting to illustrate how, exactly, his family is doing these things, Eric continued with, “I mean, DEI is out the window, Benny. You no longer have Colin Kaepernick kneeling for the national anthem. You no longer have Budweiser going woke as hell. All of this is dead.”
Instead of DEI and wokeness, Eric argued, “We have a return to people going to church, we have a return to people valuing their children and valuing society and believing in the white picket fence and what the American Dream represents… and American exceptionalism and peace around the world.”
According to him, his father is also the reason why “people can coexist with one another without having to pick up arms and destroy each other for no reason whatsoever, other than incompetent and egotistical governments.” Eric said we’re living in “a beautiful time” for all of these reasons, which is why he’s so confident that his father will go to heaven.

Eric’s comments were pretty controversial though. Some people felt that Eric’s claims about “saving God” felt “blasphemous.” One critic wrote, “Saying you’re ‘saving God’ is mocking God.” Another person on X added, “That comment is very revealing.” Someone else called it “(almost) the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard from a member of this family” and “insanely offensive.”
People also had questions about the Trump family’s priorities. “Imagine thinking Jesus’ top concern is corporate marketing and football protests,” a fourth critic commented.
