Savannah Chrisley’s ‘The View’ Appearance Triggers Immediate Backlash From Viewers

Savannah Chrisley recently appeared on The View, but many fans of the show weren’t having it. The unexpected MAGA-aligned guest co-host left people missing Alyssa Farah Griffin, who is currently on maternity leave. Although people could understand the importance of having multiple viewpoints on the show, many argued that having Savannah take Alyssa’s place was not the right way to go about achieving this.

One critic on Reddit wrote, “I’m all for hearing a conservative opinion, but she’s pure propaganda.”

Fans said they would stop watching The View for some time.

Because of Savannah’s appearance on the show, many people who tune in on a regular basis decided to take a break from watching it. One fan of the show wrote, “I DVR The View but after watching this guest host’s comments that lacked knowledge, intelligence and insight, I canceled recording the show for this week. No thank you.” And many others on Instagram and other social media platforms said the same thing, more or less. Reacting to the announcement on Instagram, one critic said, “So we’re all boycotting The View this week, right? 🙄”

Savannah was on the show for four days starting February 16, but it felt much longer to some people. Another person wrote, “My gosh this week can’t end fast enough.” And someone else said, “Hmm… losing respect for The View.”

One fan said they tried to watch the show while Savannah was on it, but felt like the “vibe” was off. “I couldn’t listen to her inane comments,” they wrote. “I’ll be back when she’s gone.” Critics also questioned how Savannah landed a role on the show, even as a guest. “What qualified her to be at the Table, seriously?” another person said.

And now is an especially bad time to have someone like Savannah as a co-host, some of the critics argued. “Please put more effort and thought on your guest co-host, considering what the country is going through, this is not it,” someone commented.

Savannah defended her presence on the show.

If she’s paying attention, she’s probably well-aware that her appearance on the show sparked backlash. In a post on Instagram, she alluded to the critics, writing that she will “choose love” over hate.

Reflecting on her time on the show, Savannah wrote, “Today was more than a seat at the table…it was a moment of purpose. Four women who see the world one way, and one who sees it another… yet we sat together, we talked, we listened. That is what real dialogue in this country is supposed to look like.”

She emphasized that people can “coexist” without agreeing with each other and defended people’s right to express their opinions. To those who have sent hate..I hear you,” she continued. “And I still choose love. Because true tolerance isn’t only for opinions you agree with. It’s for the ones you don’t. I will never apologize for standing for faith, family, and freedom. But I will always fight for a country where every voice…not just the popular one…gets to be heard.”

Elsewhere in the post, she also said, “And I also showed up with respect..because standing firm in what you believe should never require tearing someone else down.”
