The eighth wonder if the world might just be Ben Shapiro‘s eyebrows. The political commentator has noticeably thick bushy eyebrows that, from some of his critics’ perspectives, have gotten worse and bushier over time? Is that possible, or intentional on Shapiro’s part? At this point, who can say? But the way his eyebrows have grown over the years is something that people just can’t get over.
On a Reddit thread about Shapiro’s eyebrows, users shared their thoughts on the why of it all. As in, why are his eyebrows thicker than The OC‘s Peter Gallagher’s and Schitt’s Creek star Eugene Levy’s put together? Those brows are an anomaly at this point and almost more confusing than how Shapiro became such a mouthpiece for conservative politics.

Maybe Shapiro’s eyebrows were always larger than life…literally. But at some point, they just got out of control. On the Reddit thread about his eyebrows, some people had nothing but jokes at the expense of Shapiro’s eyebrows. Not just because of their size and thickness, but because they seem to have taken a life of their own. Well, sort of.
“He’s at that tender age when boys start growing hair in previously hairless parts of their bodies,” one person commented, clearly as a joke. “How adorable! Pretty soon, his voice will start to change, and he’ll be well on his way to becoming a little man! I bet his little nuggets are getting hairy, too! They grow up so fast! When they grow up at all…”
Someone else wrote that the reason behind his eyebrows, whether the photos circulating on social media are real or not, are to get people talking about Shapiro. “We should bring back ignoring things,” they commented.

The photos shared in the Reddit post are from a post on X (formerly Twitter). Because Shapiro’s eyebrows look almost comical, some people speculated on if the photos are even real. If they’re not, there is still no denying Shapiro’s eyebrows and how they have grown (literally) over the years. Or, at least over the time he has been a public figure.
“Looking at past pictures from him before his beard era, the guy has always had strong, relatively bushy eyebrows,” someone shared on the Reddit thread. “That said, now they are much taller and oddly enough, brighter than before. Can’t tell if he’s using some hair drug, letting the bushes grow real tall or using terrible makeup though.”
Another possible critic of Shapiro’s added, “Fairly sure this is edited as a joke but it is making fun of a real, noticeable change in his eyebrow thickness. Kinda like JD Vance memes where they were making fun of a real distinctive pudginess of his face.”
Some speculated about why Ben Shapiro has eyebrows that look like…that.
On another Reddit thread about Shapiro’s eyebrows, someone asked what the heck happened to the conservative political competitor’s eyebrows. Like, seriously, what happened to make them so much bushier and to make Shapiro lean into that look? Does he think he’s really doing something with the way he lets his eyebrows get bigger and bigger over time?
Some users speculated that Shapiro took an oral medication for hair growth, but that it backfired on him.
“When you take the oral [minoxidil], you have no control where it goes,” someone wrote in the thread. “So hair just grows everywhere.”
OK, obviously some of the photos of Shapiro’s eyes that have made the rounds on social media are edited to make his already large eyebrows even more pronounced. But no one can deny how those things are the first, and maybe only, thing you see when you look at his face.
