Trump Posted A Strangely Intimate Message About The Transportation Secretary’s Wife

Unhinged social media posts are kind of President Donald Trump’s thing, but some of them are so bizarre that people actually question whether he meant to share them publicly. Most recently, a message he wrote about Rachel Campos-Duffy, the wife of U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy, seemed rather… private? Though, to be fair, even as a private message, it probably still would’ve seemed weird.

The fact that he shared it on Truth Social, however, sparked backlash online, as critics found it pretty creepy.

Trump shared the message with those who were attending Rededicate 250.

It’s unclear whether he meant to share the message with specific people. But what he actually did was share it with his broader following on Truth Social, for whatever reason.

Rededicate 250 was a prayer gathering on the National Mall. It was hosted by Freedom 250 ahead of the 250th birthday of the United States. Trump did not attend the event and was said to be golfing at the time. However, he pre-recorded a video that was shown during it, and also took to social media to let attendees know he had returned from China.

“I HOPE EVERYBODY AT REDEDICATE 250 IS HAVING A GOOD TIME,” he wrote. “IF THERE IS ANYTHING I CAN DO TO HELP, JUST HAVE OUR BEAUTIFUL, BOTH INSIDE AND OUT, RACHEL C.D., GIVE ME A CALL. I’M BACK FROM CHINA!!!”

OK? Although the message seems kind of personal and possibly intended for a smaller audience, Freedom 250 helped him share it widely by including the post in an Instagram Reel. Interesting.

Trump seemed to be referring to Campos-Duffy, who is also a “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host.

But people didn’t quite understand what he was trying to achieve with this message. In response, one critic questioned, “Are you hitting on Sec. Duffy’s wife? … WTF are you talking about?” (per RadarOnline). Some others called it “gross.”

At the same time, even though Trump’s post was weird, many of the critics who reacted to Freedom 250’s Instagram Reel were more concerned about the event itself. “America looks like a cult,” someone wrote in response to the clip. The footage Freedom 250 shared also made it look like not too many people were in attendance, which is what a lot of critics focused on in the comments. “It is funny tho there’s literally no one there,” one critic commented.

Plus, others suggested that there are perhaps more pressing things for Trump to worry about at the moment. “I’d like cheaper gas and a plan for something, anything, like maybe, I don’t know, the economy,” someone else commented.

The president’s pre-recorded video for the event has also raised questions.

Although Trump’s Truth Social post about Duffy’s wife is hard to understand, it did, at least, confirm that he did not make an appearance at the prayer event. The video he recorded for the occasion, however, has started circulating on social media, and critics are not impressed. Reacting to a clip of it on X, people pointed out how the clip was edited in a way that makes it look like recording it required quite a bit of effort. Additionally, many noticed that Trump seemingly struggled to read the Bible passage he was supposed to read.
