As more details about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s lavish wedding come to light, people can’t stop talking about the outfits guests chose to wear. Unsurprisingly, while Instagram was full of photos of stunning gowns after the star-studded event, not all of the commentary was positive. Two wedding guests in particular have been called out for committing major fashion faux pas.
A dancer from Taylor’s Eras Tour seemingly broke one of the most obvious rules.
When professional dancer Tori Evans shared an Instagram Reel of the dress she wore to Taylor’s wedding, people couldn’t believe that she chose to wear white. The video showed her wearing a simple floor-length silk dress and a matching scarf, while her husband wore a classic tux. Although some people thought they looked great, they couldn’t understand why Tori would pick that color. “Love the style but white? Eek!” one person commented on the post.
Someone else wrote, “White to Taylor swifts wedding is insane.” The comments section was full of people who found the gown choice incredibly “inappropriate” and “tasteless” for a wedding.
Eventually, her husband, TJ Shaw, jumped in to clarify. “DRESS IS PINK CHAMPAGNE color for everyone that doesn’t understand lighting 😂” he wrote.
But to some critics, this really didn’t make it seem any better.

Even a light pink dress that looks white in certain lighting seemed like a bad choice to a lot of people in the comments. “Ohhh, we understand the color and lighting…” one person wrote after TJ commented. “BUT IT’S STILL A NOOOOOOO!!!”
“I don’t care if it’s ‘Pink Champagne,'” another person commented. “That’s too beige/white for a wedding.” Those who were offended said it should’ve been Taylor’s day, but a few people jumped to Tori’s defense and said it was very obvious who the bride was at this particular wedding, even if someone else wore a light pink dress.
Meanwhile, people had an issue with Camila Cabello’s dress for a very different reason.
While some thought Tori’s dress looked far too bride-like for a wedding guest, Camila’s dress didn’t look that way at all. And people still found it to be a very interesting (and inappropriate) choice for someone else’s wedding.
Instead of a muted pink, Camila went for a bright red, which already made it seem inappropriate to some people. The style of the dress only made it worse. Her off-the-shoulder lace gown featured a plunging neckline and also appeared to be partially see-through, making her legs visible. A lot of people thought she looked amazing in the Zimmermann dress, but they didn’t necessarily think it was the right choice for this occasion.
“I think I’m probably not wearing this to somebody else’s wedding,” one person wrote in a discussion on Reddit. Because not only did she wear red, but she also chose what essentially looked like a “naked dress.”
“Who wears a RED naked dress to a wedding!?” someone else commented. “She’s wild for this.”Another person wrote, “I kinda love this, but crazy to wear as a guest at a wedding.”
Others called it “weird” and “tacky,” with one person writing, “I can’t imagine going to a wedding bottomless.” Another critic added, “For a wedding?? Girl go home and change.”
But some people questioned whether the same rules really apply at a celebrity wedding.
While yes, these dresses would probably come across as particularly bold choices at an “ordinary” wedding, this is Taylor and Travis’ wedding we’re talking about. Some people argued that those who had complaints about these two dresses were being far too traditional and rigid.
“Why is everyone concerned about it not being ‘appropriate’ for a wedding when we’re talking about a massive, highly publicized celebrity wedding attended by thousands of people at Madison Square Garden?” someone wrote in response to all the backlash over Camila’s dress.
“I am surprised people are so mad at her!” another person commented. “Celebrity weddings absolutely have different rules.”
