JD Vance’s Baby News Lasted About 30 Seconds Before The Erika Kirk Jokes Started

You can’t hug Erika Kirk on-stage for the world to see, and praise her dead husband Charlie Kirk numerous times and then now expect rumors and conspiracy theories to start. Sorry JD Vance, that’s just not how the internet works. And after he shared the news of the birth of his fourth child with wife Usha Vance on X, it didn’t take long for the internet to come for him once again.

In case you forgot (or somehow never knew), there have been a wide range of theories about Erika and Vance. From the possibility of Vance leaving his wife for Erika to Vance and Usha naming their son after Charlie, there has been no shortage of comments and ideas, many as jokes, about Vance and Erika. And shortly after he announced the birth of his son on social media, the Erika jokes returned.

People joked that JD Vance’s baby is actually Erika Kirk’s child.

On a Reddit thread about Usha and Vance welcoming their fourth child and third son together, users were quick to joke about Erika’s role in it all. To be clear, Erika has no official role in the birth or conception of Vance’s fourth child. But that doesn’t mean the jokes don’t essentially write themselves where Vance’s critics are concerned.

“I didn’t realize Erika Kirk had been having sex with Usha Vance,” a user commented on the post. “Not surprising.”

Another wrote, “I imagine the ceremony is a bit more similar to the breeding sessions from Handmaid’s Tale, this time starring Erika Kirk as the Wife and poor Usha as OfVance.”

“Are we certain this isn’t Erika Kirk’s child?” Someone else joked.

Others wrote that they thought Erika was going to be pregnant with Vance’s child by now. And, someone added, “And Erika Kirk is PISSED!”

Others still think the timing is a little suspect for Usha and JD Vance.

Another theory that made the rounds on social media after Usha and Vance announced the impending birth of their fourth child was that they conceived the baby because of the Erika rumors.

Sure, there was never anything factual to back up the theory that Erika and Vance had something going on behind the scenes, but people took the tiny crumb of a theory and ran with it. And in the same Reddit thread after Vance’s son was born in July 2026, that idea came back to the surface.

“The fact that this happened so fast after the Erika Kirk stuff always seemed to me like a desperate attempt to save the marriage after the whole Erika Kirk debacle,” someone commented. But, they added for good measure, “It won’t work.”

Another person added, to add more fuel to the fire, “I just want to point out that Charlie Kirk died 9 months ago. This definitely feels like JD had some flirty moments with Erika Kirk and he went home and let loose with his wife.”

Usha and JD Vance did admit that Erika Kirk inspired them to have another child.

Conspiracy theories and possible MAGA fanfic aside, Vance wrote in his book Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith that Erika admitted she “regretted having only two kids with Charlie,” per Fox News. And when Usha and Vance appeared on CBS News Sunday Morning, they admitted that this moment inspired them to look at their own family.

Usha admitted that Erika’s comments to Vance did partly inspire her and the vice president to try and expand their family.

“It really did crystallize for [Vance] that sense that if you could have that other child, then you would have nothing to regret,” she shared. “And if we couldn’t have that other child, then we were very happy with the children that we had. So it was very powerful what she said about her own family and certainly very moving to both of us.”
