There are rumors that Jennifer Lopez, aka JLo herself, and Keith Urban are dating. Whether the rumors are true or were started simply to generate PR for the two entertainers, according to Woman’s Day, the rumor alone is meant to annoy Keith’s ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, with whom he shares two daughters.
I mean, that’s one way to get under your ex’s skin. Then again, Nicole has moved on herself, so maybe, if Keith and JLo are dating, it is of no consequence to the Practical Magic 2 star. Nicole and Keith split up in 2025, and their divorce was finalized in early 2026. They were married for 19 years, and a few months after the divorce was finalized, Nicole began dating businessman Michael Reinstein. So yeah, there’s that.

Keith and Nicole seemed like an odd couple themselves at first, with the former wife of Tom Cruise and the country music star coming from slightly different backgrounds, at least in the entertainment industry. But maybe it was their shared Australian heritage that helped bind them together, because for Nicole, her marriage to Keith lasted a lot longer than it did with Scientology’s “it” boy.
Maybe that’s why, according to a source who spoke to Woman’s Day, Keith is hopeful that him potentially dating JLo will lead to Nicole wanting him back.
“Keith’s gone through his mourning phase and is moving on from his regrets at walking out on his marriage,” the source reportedly told the outlet. “It’s becoming clear he half hoped Nicole would beg him to come home. Instead, she called a divorce attorney. But it wasn’t until he saw those pictures of her in Italy [with boyfriend Michael] that he finally accepted there was no going back. He poured it out on stage in Atlantic City, and now he’s ready to move on.”
Sources also told the outlet that friends have suggested that he take JLo on a date, and now, there are rumors that the pair are seeing each other. They worked on American Idol together once upon a time and apparently, they never lost touch after being on-air colleagues.
Not everyone is convinced that there is something between JLo and Keith Urban.
Just because there are rumors about JLo and Keith, though, it does not necessarily mean there is any truth to them. In a Facebook post about the potential couple, users commented to share their skepticism.
Some don’t see any romantic chemistry between Keith and JLo. Others questioned JLo and Keith wanting to get into any relationship right now, let alone with each other. I mean, at the very least, JLo and Keith share a similar height.
“I doubt it,” someone commented on the Facebook post. “They are most likely just friends from being on American Idol.”
Others claimed that Keith and KLo are just “too different.” But when it comes to Hollywood, never say never.
They judged ‘American Idol’ together.
If Keith’s friends suggested that he and JLo go out together, and they did, it could have been just to lean on each other as friends. They judged three seasons of American Idol together years ago.
There is a good chance they stayed in touch as friends, nothing more. And to be fair, if there is something going on between them, the paparazzi will catch it as soon as it happens.
