Christian Cuevas is definitely one of the first fan favorites on Season 11 of The Voice, and you're about to see and hear why.
With the judges' backs to the stage, the 22-year-old college music student from Florida belted out his rendition of Michael Bolton's "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You."
Within mere seconds of the blind audition, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton spun around, completely mesmerized by Cuevas' performance.
But Cuevas also has a touching story behind his incredible voice, and his decision to audition for the show for the second time around.
A couple years back, Cuevas learned his father was sick and his health was declining. With hope in his heart, the singer auditioned for The Voice as a teenager, but was rejected. He was heartbroken, and told himself he would never audition again.
But back in December 2015 — after his beloved father passed away— the show's producers tracked him down on Cuevas' YouTube account. "They told me if I could make it out to Memphis, I got a callback," he told Orlando Weekly.
With the support of his college teachers, Cuevas put school on hold to pursue his dream.
With his mother broken down in tears backstage, Cuevas chose Alicia Keys to be his coach. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of him in the weeks to come.
