Football Player Realizes A Man Is Trapped In Crashed Car Moments Before It Bursts Into Flames

Most people on their way to work or school, driving down the highway, would not necessarily stop if they saw an accident on the road. The assumption is that someone else will help whoever is in need, and that first responders will arrive on the scene shortly.

But it takes a brave soul to instinctively try to make a difference with a combination of luck and quick-thinking.

One Shelby County teen and football player is being called a hero for jumping out of his dad's car to save a man's life after he witnessed a crash on the highway on his way to school.

Roland Williams told his father to pull over after he spied a car drive off the interstate and crash. Then, he saw smoke — and a lot of it.

The teen rushed to see the condition of the driver, who was alive but had hurt his ankle in the crash. With all the smoke, it was only a matter of time before the gasoline-covered car would burst into flames.

Williams grabbed the stranger by the shoulders and pulled him out. Ambulances arrived and took the man away, and Williams and his dad continued their drive to school. The teen even made it to class on time.

Then, as he was sitting in his first-period class, the car he saved the stranger from caught fire. The football player's fast actions certainly saved the man's life!
