When a parent drops their child off at daycare, they do so with the hope that their little one will be carefully watched for the entire day.
There is no room for mistakes when it comes to watching children, they move so quickly that they need to be monitored at all times to ensure that they aren't getting into some type of dangerous situation.
But as some parents learn, daycare isn't always the safest place for your kid. With a number of other children running around, it's easy for your child to get lost in the mix and slip off the radar.
That seems to be what happened at Shining Stars Daycare in Pleasant Hill, IA. During naptime, a 2-year-old boy was able to let himself out of an unlocked door and walk away from the building.
He was under a great amount of stress and in tears when postal worker Aaron van Alstine spotted him wandering around outside the post office, which is located next door to the daycare.
By this time, the daycare staff was already looking for the little boy, but van Alstine and his coworkers called the police so the situation would be handled as carefully as possible.
Luckily, the boy was fine, but it's just so scary to think of what could've happened if he hadn't walked by the post office!
