Hundreds Of ‘Gross’ Jelly Creatures Wash Up On Beach, But Experts Say They’re Sea Cucumbers

There's a lot we don't know about our world, especially the creatures in it. We can only go so far in the depths of the ocean, for example. It's no surprise, then, that we're constantly discovering new species that seem very alien to our world.

Residents of Huntington Beach in California are discovering that for themselves. Hundreds of jelly-like creatures have washed up on shore, slithering around and slowly burrowing into the sand.

Most claim that they have never seen the mysterious marine animals and have no idea what they are. Many people thought that they were jellyfish of some kind, but couldn't be certain.

What they are sure of, however, is just how gross these globs look!

It took marine biologists to confirm exactly what they are. It turns out that these weird-looking creatures are a species of sea cucumbers not normally seen on these shores.

For now, the people living in the area aren't too concerned by what they are or how they got there. The information certainly took them by surprise, but they're ready to have the sea cucumbers gone and off the beach!
