Frosty the Snowman has a special place in many of our hearts as a symbol of our childhood and Christmas, which is why Jeff Diggs was so surprised when a prankster decided to slash his inflatable Frosty decoration in St Louis.
On December 4, 2016, security cameras caught an unnamed assailant performing a "mob hit style assault" on Frosty under the cover of darkness at 11:22 p.m.
As expected, Frosty's owner was none too pleased that his property had been vandalized, but was also disappointed by its "mean spirited" nature, especially around Christmas.
While Frosty's owners are still admittedly searching for the suspect, whom they are appropriately referring to as "The Grinch," they've also channeled their frustrations into a productive and positive project.
Frosty has become the inspiration for a fundraising effort to donate to Judge Joe Murphy's Good Kids In Need, a local Christmas charity that helps local families and children in need during the holiday season. Donations can be made on the "Frosty's Assault by Grinch" GoFundMe page.
Frosty has since been stitched up, according to a description on the page. In fact, "He insisted on going back to work immediately because he believes in the magic of the holiday season and hopes that all people will come together and learn to love and respect each other regardless of our differences!"
While the assault on Frosty is heartbreaking, we can take comfort in knowing that the attack has encouraged people to demonstrate their Christmas spirit and remember those in need.
