In February 2015, the FOX5 Surprise Squad received a very special letter from a woman who is a wife, mother and soldier fighting overseas.
Julie is a loving wife and mom of three young children, including a newborn baby son. But while her children continue to learn and grow, she's serving our country in Afghanistan.
She takes pride in serving, of course, but misses her family like crazy. And they desperately miss her, too.
Luckily, Julie's husband Jason is happy to care for their children and act as father and mother in his wife's absence.
Since Julie has missed every holiday and birthday for years, she reached out to FOX5 in the hopes the crew could help her make Valentine's Day special for the family she left behind.
"This holiday is more important than ever for our family," she says.
