Thief Steals 5-Foot Santa Statue From Store In 3 Seconds. Days Later, He Sees His Face On TV

Part of what makes this time of year so magical is the decorations that are installed everywhere you look. They're in homes, shops, and on the street, and they make everything seem so festive and bright.

So you can only imagine this shop owner's disappointment when one of her decorations, a five-foot tall animated Santa Claus, was stolen from her.

Karen Diep was shocked when a man entered her wine shop one evening, grabbed the heavy statue, and left without a word.

The statue has sentimental value for her: She bought it 12 years ago for her kids, but when they outgrew it, she brought it into her shop for her customers' children to enjoy.

Diep said that she is also worried about the neighborhood, especially with someone like that roaming around free.

Luckily, the store's security cameras caught the whole scene, and it wasn't long before the thief saw his face on TV when the footage went viral.

The story's twist comes when the man decided that it would be best to return the Santa to its proper place — it wasn't long before it was standing at the store's entrance once again. Diep even said that she won't press charges!
