Disturbing Clip Of Diddy Resurfaces After Former Child Star Daveigh Chase’s Death

A chilling video of Daveigh Chase has resurfaced after her death. The clip shows the child star, who was 12 years old at the time, accepting an award from Sean “Diddy” Combs and Ashton Kutcher at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards. The actress, who was known for voicing the character Lilo in Lilo & Stitch, was presented with the award for best villain.

Given all of the allegations against Diddy, the clip feels especially disturbing today — especially because he asked the child if she planned on attending an “after-party.” Diddy is obviously known for his parties, including his A-list “white parties” and his “freak-offs.” In 2025, he was convicted of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.

Chase died at age 35 on June 16.

She died of complications from bacterial meningitis. According to the New York Times, she was homeless at the time of her death. She stopped acting about 10 years ago and had not really been in the spotlight, though a handful of reports suggested that she was struggling for some time. Her friend and former manager John Ryan Jr. told Entertainment Weekly that he “knew she had a f—ed up childhood.”

The disturbing Diddy clip resurfaced on social media shortly after her death.

The beginning of the clip shows Diddy and Kutcher presenting Chase with an award for her role in The Ring. Kutcher, who would’ve been 25 years old at the time, encouraged Chase by telling her that she was “doing so good.” Diddy also added, “Take your time.”

Some people on social media also found this interaction unsettling, but what bothered people more is what happened after.

When they were backstage, Diddy approached Chase. He was holding a drink and asked, “You coming to the after-party tonight?”

Chase nodded in response. Then, Diddy laughed and said, “Yes!”

People are disgusted by it.

At the same time, the fact that it’s being shared again in light of her death has sparked mixed reactions on social media. In the eyes of some critics, now does not seem like the best time to speculate about the late actress’s interactions with Diddy. “Why couldn’t you let her rest peacefully and not reflect on such things like this,” one person wrote in response to someone who shared the clip on X. “What is wrong with you?”

But others were more focused on how “nasty” and inappropriate the video seemed. “this totally breaks my heart,” one person commented. “So gross they just cannot stop touching her,” another commenter observed.

Someone else said, “When I look at the clip as an adult it’s more disturbing and sick.” The clip also sparked conversations about something much larger than that one unsettling interaction: the dangers of child stardom, and how harmful it can be.

“No one that young is prepared to handle what she experienced,” a commenter wrote. “It’s heartbreaking.”

“Daveigh died after years of dealing with substance abuse and homelessness,” someone else added. “Hollywood has a lot to answer for.”
